MEM Interiors Penthouse Interior Design
Perched high above the vibrant coastline of Punta del Este, Uruguay, this 22nd-floor penthouse offers breathtaking panoramic views of sea and sky—a natural backdrop that inspired a design approach centered on light, space, and quiet elegance. MEM Interiors was entrusted with the complete interior design of this coastal residence, where the goal was not to compete with the view, but to frame it through thoughtful restraint and refined simplicity.
With a minimalist interior design philosophy guiding every decision, the layout and palette were intentionally kept clean and fluid. Open spaces allow the light to move uninterrupted across rooms, while subtle tonal shifts in materials and textures create visual warmth without distraction. Every element was chosen to amplify the experience of place—from the horizon that greets you at sunrise to the soft shift of coastal light at dusk.
At the heart of the home, custom-designed furnishings bring tailored comfort to the space without overwhelming it. MEM Interiors designed a sculptural yet understated sofa, crafted to complement the scale of the living area while maintaining a low profile that keeps sightlines open to the surrounding landscape. Coordinating pieces—including bespoke coffee tables, dining furniture, and cabinetry—were handcrafted using natural materials that echo the penthouse’s coastal setting, reinforcing the connection between interior and environment.
The entire home is a study in elevated simplicity—where function meets form, and each space flows with quiet purpose. With Punta del Este’s coastline as both canvas and inspiration, this project captures MEM Interiors’ signature approach: thoughtful, custom interiors that embrace stillness, clarity, and timeless sophistication.
